EcoFlow shrinks its River power stations

EcoFlow’s fourth-generation River series brings smaller portable power stations with higher energy density. The River 260 Gen4 has a 256Wh battery, while the River 520 Gen4 has a 512Wh battery—about 2.5x and 5x the energy of the largest airline-approved power banks, respectively.

Both models use longer-lasting LFP chemistry. The River 260 Gen4 has four USB ports and 300W of maximum continuous output through one AC jack. The River 500 Gen4 has the same USB selection and two AC jacks supporting 500W of continuous output.

EcoFlow says both Gen4 stations are lighter and more compact than similarly specified competitors. They can also work as a UPS for a computer, with a cutover time of less than 10ms. Each includes one bidirectional 140W USB-C PD3.1 port, enabling direct DC charging from a 140W USB-C wall charger or a portable USB-C solar panel.

EcoFlow has reduced the energy used to convert stored DC power to AC output, leaving more watt-hours for devices such as a drone, bike computer, and phone, or for a Starlink Mini and compact fridge. The River 520 Gen4 can run a standard US fridge for about 4 hours during a blackout.

The River 260 Gen4 will be available in Europe from Q4 2026. The River 520 Gen4 will follow in Q1 2027. Pricing will be announced closer to the global release dates.
