Borderless Gaming, a Steam app, has added Frame Generation and DLSS 5 Neural Rendering over the last week, according to Wccftech.
The app’s Frame Generation uses a custom, general-purpose implementation. Its author, Andrew Sampson, who is also known as the creator of streaming technology Rainway, said it was trained on “tens of thousands of hours of gameplay.” The feature does not require game modifications.
DLSS 5 Neural Rendering also relies on BGFX, a mode introduced earlier this year. BGFX captures game windows at the compositor level and processes them through a GPU effect. The source reports that Borderless Gaming’s implementation runs without touching NVIDIA’s software and has been quantized to work well even on unsupported GPUs.
