Base44 has launched Superagent, a voice AI agent that can make and receive phone calls on behalf of a user. The service was launched earlier this month.
According to a press release shared with TechRadar Pro, users begin by giving Superagent a goal and relevant context about how that goal should be achieved. The agent can then contact businesses or customers, ask questions, collect information and navigate supported phone menus.
After completing a task, Superagent reports back with a summary of what it did and the outcomes it achieved. Base44 says the system is intended for everyday tasks that might otherwise require people to wait on hold or work through frustrating automated phone systems.
TechRadar, in a report by Owain Williams, presents the launch as part of a broader shift in consumer AI. These tools are moving beyond systems that only answer questions toward agentic AI that can take real-world actions based on user requests. The launch also raises a question about whether people will be comfortable interacting with AI if it reduces waiting times and makes calls more efficient.
