Sony has unveiled two new PlayStation Pulse wireless gaming headsets as the next line of PS5 audio products. According to TechRadar, both models are intended to replace the PlayStation Pulse Elite, which launched in 2024.
The PlayStation Pulse Edge features custom planar magnetic drivers designed to deliver “studio-inspired” sound, with eight magnets. It includes a detachable boom microphone with AI noise rejection, a USB Type-C adapter, and a premium carrying case. Other features include built-in volume controls integrated with the console’s operating system, a game audio and chat balance slider, and active noise cancellation.
The upcoming PlayStation Pulse is positioned as a more entry-level model. It has four driver magnets instead of eight, which likely means less bass and reduced clarity. It uses an integrated microphone rather than a boom mic, and it lacks game audio and chat balance, active noise cancellation, and a carrying case.
Sony has not announced pricing for either headset on the official PlayStation Blog. Both models will be available in white and black, arrive early next year, and connect to PlayStation Portal out of the box through native PlayStation Link compatibility.
