Sony Quietly Introduces Another PlayStation 5 Slim Revision

Sony has quietly launched another revision of the PlayStation 5 Slim, according to Wccftech. The report says the updated model has a refreshed motherboard with several changes, but its summary does not specify what those changes are.

Sony has released multiple PlayStation 5 models since the console launched in 2020. Wccftech says smaller revisions of the original base model were eventually replaced by the PS5 Slim, which also received revisions addressing issues including liquid metal cooling.

Console and controller technician @Modyficator89 described the latest refresh in a post on X as “much more interesting than it looks,” according to Wccftech. The report characterizes the motherboard changes as important to the system’s longevity, but the available source material does not provide technical details or explain their expected effect.

Sony’s reported quiet launch marks another change in the PS5 Slim’s hardware revisions. The source does not give a launch date, price, or a fuller list of the updated model’s features.
