Neurable One headphones add continuous brain tracking

Neurable has announced Neurable One, a new pair of premium headphones that combines audio and active noise cancellation with continuous brain tracking. Unlike earlier Neurable models built around Master & Dynamic headphones, Neurable One was designed from the ground up.

The headphones use 12 EEG sensors integrated into the ear pads. Neurable says they can passively record brain activity during everyday use, without requiring users to start a tracking session. CEO and co-founder Dr. Ramses Alcaide said the system reads electrical activity and shifts in the brain, rather than reading the brain itself.

A new iOS and Android app presents real-time insights into focus, cognitive load, cognitive speed and “brain battery.” It also includes an “Alpha Peak Frequency” reading, which Neurable describes as a person’s strongest resting rhythm. Focus Sessions offer options for work, relaxation or naps, while neuroadaptive audio can adjust in response to changes in cognitive state. “Smart Brain Break” notifications are designed to flag signs of mental fatigue.

Neurable says the headphones are intended to help users understand patterns in how they focus, rest and recover. The company has set the price at $499. The source does not provide a release date or independent test results for Neurable One.
