Gudea uses artificial intelligence to help organizations understand how stories and rumors spread online and spot potential crises before they escalate. The company describes itself as a “storm tracker for the internet.”
Its system analyzes behavior, relationships and information pathways across more than 500 websites and platforms, including X, Reddit and TikTok. Gudea aims to show who is driving a conversation, how quickly it is gaining traction and where it may be headed, adding context beyond counts of mentions, hashtags and impressions.
CEO and founder Keith Presley presented the company at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. Gudea was founded in 2023 by Presley, Jonathan Sperber and James Thomin. The team’s earlier work at the George Washington Initiative, a nonprofit established after the 2020 election, focused on disrupting online networks tied to information campaigns.
Presley said Gudea now has nearly 40 clients, including a Fortune 50 telecommunications company, a Fortune 50 retailer, public relations and crisis communications agencies, and government agencies. He also cited an AI lab and a band among its customers without naming them.
Presley said inauthentic activity appeared in about one out of four things the team examined when it began its work in 2021, compared with about nine out of ten now. Gudea plans to introduce narrative geolocation next year, with precision down to the city-block level, and is considering letting customers assess advertising campaigns with its AI before launch.
Last week, the company announced a $7 million seed round co-led by Mudita Venture Partners and Silicon Road Ventures, bringing its total funding to approximately $15 million.
