Chinese technology startup Langdao Silex has unveiled a prototype EUV light source at the 26th China International Industry Fair in Shanghai. The company calls the device FlintNano LPP-OXXO.
EUV light sources are a core component of extreme ultraviolet lithography. Langdao Silex says it has developed most of the prototype’s core components independently and reached a localization rate of approximately 90%.
The unveiling does not establish that China is ready to replace ASML, the Dutch company identified in the source report as holding a monopoly in the field. The report says mass production is not expected for another 3–5 years, and describes that estimate as potentially optimistic. It also notes that ASML faces U.S. trade restrictions.
The source report does not provide technical performance figures for the prototype or evidence that it is ready for commercial use. The announcement therefore marks a development milestone, while the timeline and its implications remain uncertain.
