Apple reported record iPhone sales in its fourth-quarter earnings, despite not releasing a new standard iPhone during its latest refresh. The company said iPhone revenue reached $57.58 billion, up 17 percent from the same period a year earlier.
The increase followed the September launch of the iPhone 18 lineup, including the higher-priced iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Apple also raised prices on older models. The company introduced its first folding phone, the iPhone Duo, but preorder sales were not included in the report. Apple said only a “limited” number of iPhone Duos were available in stores at launch, and some estimated shipping dates extended into 2027.
Apple CEO John Ternus told CNBC that memory costs were higher than in the June quarter, partly offset by inventory and lower costs for non-memory components.
Overall revenue rose 12 percent to $114.5 billion. Mac revenue grew 24 percent to $10.79 billion, and services revenue reached $31.57 billion. iPad revenue fell 10 percent year over year to $6.23 billion.
Other recent launches included Apple’s first smart home display, video doorbells, security cameras and door locks made with LG and Schneider Electric. Last week, Apple also revealed a touchscreen MacBook Pro, a design its executives had previously resisted.
