TechRadar’s Desire Athow reviewed the Anker Solix S2000 portable power station, finding it useful for DIY work and household backup when paired with compatible equipment. The UK review unit has a substantial battery in a relatively compact upright enclosure, though its 16.2kg weight still makes moving it a deliberate lift.
The reviewer tested it with a 1,200W wet/dry vacuum, starting at 59% charge. Across intermittent five-to-ten-minute sessions between approximately 10am and 5pm, the S2000 finished with 13% remaining. Athow noted that this was a seven-hour working day with breaks, not seven hours of continuous vacuuming, and not a controlled capacity or efficiency test.
The main constraint is its 1,500W continuous output, which limits the appliances it can run. The UK model has four Type G AC sockets, two at the front and two at the rear, plus USB ports including a 100W USB-C connection. The display shows battery percentage, input and output wattage, and estimated remaining time. Anker rates its changeover time at approximately 10ms.
Charging options include mains, compatible solar panels and vehicle charging. Solar input is capped at 400W, with a maximum open-circuit voltage of 60V specified by Anker; alternative methods require suitable cables or accessories. The reviewer also praised the straightforward companion app and clear explanations of its settings.
