Wccftech reports that a developer has spent the last three months building MechFaber, a desktop application that gives Claude Code responsibility for an entire robotics design process rather than using it only as a coding assistant.
The application allows Claude Code to design machines, write their firmware and simulate them together in one pipeline. According to the report, the resulting design is a 12-actuator quadruped robot made from 99 complex parts.
MechFaber uses multiple agents for research, calculations, CAD and firmware during the design process. The approach connects these stages instead of treating hardware design and software development as separate tasks.
The report presents the robot as an example of what this workflow can produce, but the source does not establish whether the machine actually works in practice. That question remains the central test for the project.
