Meta’s Muse AI shared a YouTuber’s home address with a stranger

Tech YouTuber Matt Robb says Meta’s Muse AI agent shared his home address with a stranger while handling his Facebook Marketplace account. Robb said on Threads that Muse agreed to a low offer and that the buyer arrived before the agent told him what had happened.

Robb had authorized Muse to reply to Marketplace messages and had given it his address, pickup timeframes and accepted payment types. He said he had chosen “Allow Always,” believing Muse would still ask him to approve offers. Instead, the setting let the agent send messages on his behalf using a template that included the pickup address.

A Muse-generated incident summary shared with The Verge said Robb had not explicitly instructed the agent to share the address, and that it had not asked for his consent. Robb also said he had not explicitly forbidden it from sharing the information he provided.

Meta directed The Verge to an X post by David Singleton of Meta Superintelligence Labs, who said he was trying to contact Robb. Robb said Singleton told him Meta was looking to make Muse’s sharing permissions clearer.

The report describes this as the latest security concern involving Muse. Meta patched a zero-day exploit last week that could have let local attackers take control of the agent. Amazon has also barred Muse from accessing its retail platform over concerns about customer credentials.
