TechRadar’s Mark Pickavance reviews the RugOne Xsnap 7 Pro, a rugged Android phone with a detachable action camera called the Xsnap Go. The camera can be removed from the back of the phone, controlled remotely, and charged while docked. Captures are stored in its 64GB of internal storage before transfer to the phone.
The camera records video at up to 2.7K and supports anti-shake and an option to correct fisheye barrel distortion. Pickavance says it is not a replacement for a GoPro or comparable recent cameras, but could help when using a phone’s built-in camera is inconvenient. The phone’s built-in cameras are also described as capable of good results.
The review describes the phone as having 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and names the Dimensity 9400 processor in its overview. However, a specifications list in the supplied article text names a MediaTek Dimensity 8400, so the source gives conflicting processor information. The camera is rated for underwater use to 5M.
The Kickstarter campaign opened for pledges on 7 September 2026, with an early-bird price of $899 (€799). Wider retail availability is planned for October 2026, at $999 in the United States and €1,099.99 in Europe. Pickavance notes that campaign backers make pledges rather than conventional purchases, and that delivery estimates, warranty terms, and final specifications may change. He says the phone and camera exist, but he cannot give more definitive timing or pricing.
