Leaked images shared by WinFuture suggest Amazon’s next entry-level Kindle will get a minor redesign and more color options. Amazon has not confirmed the images or the device.
The images show the e-reader in light blue, green, and mauve, alongside black. The current entry-level model is sold in black and matcha green. The leaked images do not reveal the official names for the new colors.
The images also show a power button moved from the bottom of the e-reader to its top right edge, and more rounded screen corners. The button’s new position could help prevent readers from accidentally putting the device to sleep when resting it on something. WinFuture speculates that some images may show a slightly recessed E Ink panel, which could indicate versions with different display features.
The leak offers no details about the next Kindle’s screen, storage, battery life, or price. The 2024 basic Kindle launched at $109.99. Last month, Amazon raised its price to $149.99, citing “significant increases in memory and storage component costs.”
