Withings BodyScan 2 brings cardiometabolic tracking to a premium smart scale

TechRadar’s review says the Withings BodyScan 2 goes beyond weight and BMI measurements with estimates for heart age, Withings’ “vascular age” metric, hypertension risk and unstable glycaemia. The review found accurate results across almost all metrics, although the vascular age estimate changed significantly over a couple of weeks.

According to Withings, the BodyScan 2 is the world’s first longevity station. The second version moves the display from the base to the retractable handle and adds SpO2 measurements, hypertension screening, heart and vascular age estimates, and additional cardiometabolic reporting.

The scale tracks over 40 biomarkers and uses a reinforced aluminum chassis. Its 640 x 172 px color LCD is built into the handle, while the glass platform contains eight integrated Indium Tin Oxide electrodes. The scale supports up to 200 kg / 440 lb.

The BodyScan 2 costs $599.95 USD / £449.95 GBP / $895 AUS. A Withings+ subscription costs $9.95 / £8.95 per month and is required for some features. TechRadar describes the product as one of the most advanced consumer smart scales, while noting its very high price.
