Spotify has launched technology.spotify.com, a website that brings together software the company built for its own teams and now offers to outside organizations. The site includes both open-source and paid products.
The move formalizes a business Spotify has been developing for several years. The company open-sourced Backstage, a platform and framework for customizable developer portals, in 2020. It began selling Confidence, a software experimentation platform for businesses, in 2023, followed by Portal, an enterprise software development platform, in 2024. Earlier this year, Spotify began selling Xirp, a tool for managing AI coding agents.
Spotify says the tools support services built for an audience of 777 million monthly active users. Senior Vice President of Technology & Platform Tyson Singer said the company’s consumer app is supported by hundreds of cross-functional teams that ship products and code every day. He also argued that AI can speed up software development without reducing its complexity, cost or operational demands.
Spotify says its services are being designed to work with AI agents. The company has not disclosed how much revenue enterprise sales generate. The new website lists no prices; businesses can contact Spotify’s sales team to discuss their needs.
