Smeg has launched the AFC01 Dual Flavour Air Fryer, its first standalone air fryer, with seven cooking presets and an optional steam mode.
The square fryer has a matte finish and uses a lift-out basket instead of a drawer. Its lid flips open, while a translucent top and internal light let users check food during cooking. A touch-sensitive control panel replaces physical dials and buttons.
The AFC01 offers two cooking modes. Crispy works like a standard air fryer, while Juicy+Crispy releases fine water droplets from a top reservoir to help keep foods such as fish and chicken moist inside.
The basket can be removed and cleaned in a dishwasher. The fryer follows the design of Smeg’s MOC02 microwave and air fryer combo, released in February. The MOC02 also works as a fan oven and grill and supports multi-stage cooking.
The AFC01 comes in four matte colours: Black, Storm Blue, Emerald Green, and White. It is available directly from Smeg for £199.95.
