Sega and Branch have teamed up on three office chairs themed around Sonic, the Sega Genesis and the Sega Dreamcast. The designs are based on Branch’s Ergonomic Chair Pro, which TechRadar says it tested and rated 4.5 stars. TechRadar has not tested the Sega Edition chairs.
The chairs start at $569. Branch says their ergonomics and build quality match the standard chair. Features include 14 points of adjustment, 5D armrests, two-way adjustable lumbar support and forward seat tilt. They have a 275lb weight capacity and come with a seven-year warranty. A tall cylinder for people 5'11" and up costs an extra $29.
The Sonic version has blue mesh with red and gold accents. The Genesis and Dreamcast versions use vegan leather. All three have custom stitching and branded casters.
For comparison, TechRadar reports that Branch listed the standard chair at $599 when it reviewed it, with a headrest costing an extra $79. The publication calculates that the Sega Edition costs about $109 less than the standard chair and headrest combined. TechRadar also notes that the Sega Edition is not on sale.
