Salesforce CEO rejects ‘SaaSpocalypse’ fears as Jensen Huang backs him

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has rejected claims that artificial intelligence will trigger a “SaaSpocalypse”, calling the idea “crazy nonsense” during the opening keynote of Dreamforce 2026.

According to TechRadar, Benioff said the discussion about a SaaSpocalypse over the last six months misunderstood how software is changing. He argued that software is not ending, but that software requiring humans to do all the work may be.

Benioff pointed to AIforce, Salesforce’s new software interface for the AI era. He said users had moved from Command Line interfaces to GUI, and later from web applications to mobile devices. AIforce is designed to let agents reason and take action across the data, workflows, and logic inside Salesforce.

Later in the keynote, Benioff brought Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on stage to discuss Koa CRM, which Salesforce developed alongside Nvidia. Their conversation turned to the wider technology industry.

Huang also rejected predictions about the end of software. He said the new agentic layer would sit on top of software and make it more capable. Both executives presented AI as a new layer for software rather than a replacement for the industry.
