Redpill Linpro and Berget AI Partner on Sovereign AI for Public Sector

Sweden-based Redpill Linpro and Berget AI have entered a partnership to make AI services hosted in Sweden more accessible, particularly to public-sector organizations. Under Redpill Linpro’s existing framework agreements, public agencies and other public bodies can procure Berget AI services without first running an entirely new procurement, the companies say.

The companies say moving AI from trials into production brings challenges beyond technology, including organizational change, leadership, data location and procurement. Redpill Linpro CEO Henrik Gavelli told Techtidningen that many organizations focus on tools such as chatbots, prompting and Copilot, while giving less attention to how AI could change important business processes.

Berget AI co-founder and CTO Christian Landgren said many public agencies and regulated organizations have tested generative AI in small proof-of-concept projects, often using public or less sensitive data. Greater value can come from connecting AI to central systems, but that can involve personal data and other regulated information, he told the publication.

Berget AI’s platform is designed to keep data in Sweden and provides access to multiple AI models. The partnership will also offer Redpill Linpro customers consulting support for implementation, processes and organization, according to the companies.

Gavelli and Landgren also pointed to organizational capacity as a challenge. As AI makes it easier to create longer questions and applications, agencies may face more work handling them. Landgren said agencies will need to use agents and automation themselves to manage the volume. Both executives emphasized that leaders need to understand how the technology could change work across their organizations.
