Private Internet Access (PIA) says it has added 10 locations to its server network, with new servers in the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Australia. The company describes the expansion as part of a broader effort to grow its network.
The announcement follows an addition of 15 locations in September 2026. PIA says its recent expansions bring its network to 170 locations across 104 countries and territories. TechRadar’s independent tracking, however, found 176 locations across 112 countries. The publication says those figures also match what PIA’s Windows app displays.
PIA says some of the new locations use virtual servers, which it says help offer more locations while meeting its privacy and security standards. The source notes that major consumer VPN providers use virtual servers, and says they can be as safe and reliable as on-site servers if properly managed.
TechRadar’s tracking counts 69 PIA locations in North America, 50 in Europe and 33 in Asia. It lists nine in South America, eight in Oceania and seven in Africa. The publication compares PIA’s reported reach with NordVPN, at 225 locations in 150 countries, and ExpressVPN, at 196 locations in 113 countries.
The article says PIA’s network has previously expanded in the Caribbean, Central and Southeast Asia, and gained dedicated streaming servers in Europe and the Americas. It does not provide a list of the 10 newly added locations.
