The Philips Hue Bridge Pro has become more expensive in several markets, while a software update adds a feature that can reduce the need for extra hardware.
In the US, the hub rose from $99 to $139, an increase of roughly 40%. In the UK, it is priced at £129.99 in the Philips Hue Autumn Glow-Up sale, up from its £79.99 launch price—around 35% higher. Amazon currently lists it at £90.80.
According to 9to5Google, the changes rolled out in August. Eurozone markets have also been affected: the Bridge Pro increased from €99 to €149. It launched at €89 and rose to €99 in March, making this the second European price increase this year and bringing the total increase to 51%. Hue Blog also spotted Hue Essential multi-packs rising from €59.99 to €69.99. The Bridge Pro and Hue Essential devices were released last year.
The latest update supports Bridgeless Sync for Philips Hue lights with the Hue Play Screen Sync TV camera and Hue Play HDMI Sync Box 4K. The devices can communicate with a single Hue light over Bluetooth without a Bridge or Bridge Pro. The camera-based Screen Sync system also works with any TV source, removing the need for an HDMI Sync Box.
