According to Wccftech, developer Adeline has released NVSmooth30, an experimental compatibility mod that enables NVIDIA Smooth Motion on GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics cards, which do not officially support the feature. Wccftech reports that an RTX 3050 Laptop GPU and an RTX 3080 have been confirmed working.
NVIDIA introduced Smooth Motion with the RTX 50 Series and later expanded it to RTX 40 Series GPUs. The driver-level AI frame-generation solution differs from DLSS Frame Generation because it does not require a game to integrate NVIDIA's SDK.
On compatible titles, Smooth Motion can generate 1 additional frame for each rendered frame. NVSmooth30 therefore extends access to the feature through an experimental community-made mod, rather than official support for RTX 30 Series hardware.
