Minisforum has started selling the ESP4B, an add-in card built around AMD’s B850 chipset. The card offers four M.2 ports, OCuLink and a USB Type-C port rated at 20 Gbps, according to the product details in the source report.
Minisforum’s website identifies the chipset as an AMD Promontory 21 variant and says the card connects to a host system over a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface. The report says the four M.2 ports work without PCIe bifurcation.
A Reddit user has also published a hands-on look at the card, giving an early view of the B850 chipset in an add-in-card design. The source does not provide further test results or details about performance. The ESP4B is described as Minisforum’s first expansion card based on AMD’s B850 chipset.
