Ukrainian developer 4A Games has released the METRO Redux Next-Gen Update for Metro 2033 and Last Light, the first two games in the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter series.
The update brings a range of technical changes: an uncapped frame rate; upscaling options including 4A TSR, NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR; Screen Space Global Illumination; more detailed geometry and textures, including 4K textures; improved PBR materials, animation and sound; spatial audio support; and support for DualSense Adaptive Triggers and Xbox Impulse Triggers.
Wccftech reports that the update also contains an unlisted DLSS 5 surprise. The feature was not included in the official patch notes. The source describes NVIDIA's neural rendering as giving the games' older characters new life, but the supplied excerpt does not explain how the feature works or provide further details.
