Chinese automotive brand Lepas has unveiled the Aura, a concept car that points to a possible design direction for future models. The company presented it during its Global Elegant Lifestyle Week in Wuhu, China.
The Aura combines hatchback proportions with a sporty shooting brake shape. Its front features a “Leopard-Eye” lighting signature and a large, back-lit screen in place of a conventional grille. According to designer Ivan Dulanovic, the screen can show adaptable graphics, lighting effects and animations. An elliptical display at the rear could support personalized taillight signatures.
The concept has no front grille or ducting, which suggests it could use an electrified powertrain. Lepas has not confirmed whether the Aura previews a production car. The company describes the design as the second evolution of its “Leopard Aesthetics” approach; the brand name combines “leopard” and “passion.”
Unlike the L8 and L6 SUVs that the source describes as more generic in styling, the Aura is not an SUV. Its low stance, flowing surfaces and uncluttered form offer a distinct alternative to the crossovers common among newer Chinese brands entering Europe, the source argues. The concept also points toward a sleek hatchback or shooting brake for Lepas, though no production plans have been announced.
