LaserPecker LX2 combines a 500 x 305mm work area with swappable laser heads

TechRadar reviewer Alastair Jennings tested the LaserPecker LX2, a fully enclosed desktop laser cutter and engraver with a 500 x 305mm work area and interchangeable laser heads.

The system supports 20W, 40W, and 60W diode modules, plus a 2W infrared head for metals and plastics. Jennings tested the 40W diode and 2W IR heads, reporting that the 40W module cut through 20mm basswood cleanly. The modular design allows the machine to handle more materials than a fixed single-laser engraver.

The LX2 weighs 22.5kg and measures 779.5 x 609.2 x 281.15mm. It includes a 12MP / 6K positioning camera, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, and front- and top-loading access. However, the Air Assist remains external, and Jennings said its connector broke during testing.

LaserPecker Design Space was still in Beta because the full release did not yet support the LX2. Jennings described the machine as well built and suited to home and small-business use, while noting that the software requires experimentation and that the included support setup has limitations.
