Govee has launched the Govee Sky Ceiling Light, a smart ceiling light designed to look like a skylight. It can change its color based on the time of day and weather, and it can use AI to adjust its settings to suit your mood.
The light debuted at the IFA tech show in Berlin this week. It can automatically adapt to time and weather, which could be useful in rooms without natural light. Users can also prioritize Govee's sky blue spectrum when they want to feel energized.
The Govee model is Matter-compatible, allowing it to integrate with other smart home devices. Its list price is $399.99 (about £300 / AU$560).
Philips launched a skylight-style light fitting a few months ago. It changes light temperature and brightness according to the time of day and has a starting price of €499.99 (about $580 / £430 / AU$810). Unlike the Govee model, it does not offer true smart home integration and is operated with a physical remote control.
The Philips lamp includes an integrated UV-B module designed to support the body's natural production of vitamin D. It also has an IP44 rating for bathroom use and a rectangular shape.
