Mozilla is updating Smart Window, Firefox’s AI-powered browsing experience, with tools for filling out online forms and monitoring webpages for changes.
The form-filling feature can use information from open tabs to suggest text for web forms. Mozilla says it could, for example, draw work history from an online portfolio or LinkedIn page for a job application. To use it, click a form with at least four text fields and choose “Fill from sources.” Firefox shows which tabs it will use, and users can select or deselect them before the browser generates suggestions.
The feature currently supports text fields. Mozilla is working on support for dropdown menus and PDFs. The company notes that source-page data is shared with Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, which generates the suggestions.
Smart Window can also monitor webpages for sales, job listings, and other updates. Users set this up by typing “/watch” in the chat, describing what they want to find, and adding webpages. Firefox checks daily or weekly, but only while the browser is open. Notifications appear through the toolbar’s Tasks button or on the desktop if desktop notifications are enabled.
Monitoring pauses after 60 days without a detected change and stops completely after 90 days. Both features are rolling out to the Smart Window beta on desktop in the US and Canada, with availability in other countries expected in the “coming months.”
