Dyson revives Corrale with a smaller design and cooling attachment

Dyson has introduced the Corrale CoolShine, a second-generation version of its Corrale straightener with a smaller, corded design and a removable cooling attachment.

The original Corrale launched in 2020 as a cordless tool, but its battery contributed to a heavier, bulkier shape. The new model is lighter and more streamlined. Its flexible plates remain, although they are now slimmer and designed to reduce snagging.

The CoolShine attachment consists of frames that clip over the hot plates. A copper pipe containing a bead of water is designed to draw residual heat away from the hair during styling. Dyson says this can leave hair cooler to the touch, with a smoother, softer feel. The attachment can be removed for precision styling and root work. The straightener also has universal voltage.

Dyson has also announced the Airsmooth brush dryer, a hot brush with looped and open-base bristles, airflow control, intelligent heat control, a teardrop profile and universal voltage.

The Corrale CoolShine will cost $329 / AU$499. The Airsmooth dryer brush will cost $249 / £199.99 / AU$399. The Airsmooth goes on sale in the US and UK on September 8, while the Corrale CoolShine follows on September 15. In Australia, the brush launched on September 4 and the straightener will arrive in November.
