Durabook Z14I-DX3 folds out three 14-inch screens

Durabook has launched the Z14I-DX3, a rugged workstation laptop with three 14-inch Full HD touchscreens. Two side panels hinge from the lid and fold over the main display for transport. Open, the screens form a 48:9 workspace.

Durabook says the laptop is available to order, but does not list a price; customers can request a quote. The company pitches it to defense, public safety, utilities, field engineering and maritime users. Its intended tasks include keeping drone video, mission maps, telemetry and sensor data visible at the same time.

All three displays are rated at 1,200 nits and designed for sunlight readability. They support finger, water, glove and stylus modes, and brightness can be synchronized or adjusted per panel. The system can be configured with an Nvidia RTX 5000 Ada GPU, which Durabook says delivers up to 682 TOPS for on-device AI tasks such as image recognition and video analysis.

Connections include Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 7, two serial ports, VGA, an ExpressCard 54 slot, dual gigabit Ethernet, HDMI and a 41-pin docking connector. GPS, 4G and 5G are optional. Durabook cites MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G testing and an operating range of -29°C to 63°C.

The laptop weighs 9.8 kg and is 137.5 mm thick when closed, excluding its adapter and carrying case. Those dimensions make it better suited to a fixed position, shelter or vehicle than to carrying around in the field.
