Dreame, known for its robot vacuums and hair stylers, is branching out into portable coffee machines with the Ecceluxe Go, a travel espresso maker that heats its own water.
The brewer uses a Li-ion battery and a small heating element to warm the small amount of water needed for a shot. It comes in a carry case with adapters for Nespresso Classic, Dolce Gusto, ESE (Easy Serve Espresso) pods and ground coffee. Dreame says it has no current UK release schedule, but plans to bring the machine to the US, Portugal and Spain by the end of the year.
A touch-sensitive LED display controls the machine. Its two programs are P1, for cold or room-temperature water, and P2, for water that is already hot. The water temperature appears on the display as it rises; heating takes a couple of minutes. The machine then pushes water through the selected coffee preparation.
TechRadar reviewer Cat Ellis says the espresso tasted milder than usual but was still enjoyable as a plain shot. Ellis is testing all four coffee options for a full review, which the publication says will appear in a couple of weeks. The source describes the Ecceluxe Go as a new machine and gives no price or exact launch date.
