Deloitte report finds 28% of firms see revenue growth from AI

A new Deloitte report says more businesses are beginning to see returns from artificial intelligence, though revenue growth remains slower to materialize than other reported benefits.

Some 28% of surveyed organizations said their AI strategies were generating revenue growth, up from 20% earlier in 2026. Respondents also reported gains in efficiency and productivity (74%), decision-making and data insight (60%), cost reductions (45%), and client relationships (44%).

Despite those results, 86% of businesses surveyed plan to increase AI investment over the next financial year. Deloitte also says many organizations lack a detailed view of AI spending: 71% track total costs across token consumption, but may not know which activities account for the bill.

Companies are also changing jobs as AI becomes more embedded in work. Three in five have redesigned jobs to a moderate extent, while 15% have done so extensively and 1% completely, according to the report.

Deloitte says sovereign AI is gaining attention. In-house AI development is underway at 46% of surveyed businesses in the Americas and 47% in EMEA. Globally, 74% of respondents said sovereign AI was at least moderately important. The report notes that sovereign or in-house approaches can involve trade-offs in capability, speed, or cost.
