A customer says Lenovo returned a gaming laptop with visible damage after servicing it for thermal throttling, and quoted $400 to repair the damage.
According to Wccftech, the laptop was a Lenovo Legion 7i with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, 64GB of RAM and an RTX 5090. The customer reportedly said the laptop had been in pristine condition before it went to Lenovo’s service center.
The service visit was prompted by thermal throttling issues. The source says the CPU temperature had reached 102°C. After the laptop was returned, the customer reported visible damage to the keyboard deck and a corner edge; the source headline also describes scraping on the top part.
The customer claims Lenovo did not offer to replace the damaged parts and instead asked for $400 for the repair, despite the machine being under warranty. These details are attributed to the customer in Wccftech’s report; the source does not include a response from Lenovo.
