Caira Adds Generative Video Editing, but Requires Caira Footage

Camera Intelligence is adding Generative Video Editing to Caira, its AI-native Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera system.

The feature works through the Caira app and can apply visual and camera-motion effects to footage already captured with Caira. It cannot generate video from text or create its own footage. Camera Intelligence says it is the first company to embed video-generation models directly into a mirrorless camera system.

The system is powered by Google's Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash and Runway's Aleph 2.0. At launch, its curated template library will include Relight, Reframe, Camera Motion and Set Extension. Users can refine edits through conversational editing. Outputs will be available in 720p and 1080p, with generation taking one to three minutes depending on resolution.

Each generated video will be saved separately from the original and watermarked with Google's SynthID to identify it as AI-generated content.

A private beta opens for current Caira customers, who can register their interest. Generative Video Editing will later become part of the paid Caira Studio software package in Autumn 2026. Pricing has not been announced. Caira Studio will also include the existing Image Editing feature and one additional feature that has not yet been announced.
