Bluesky Expands Attie to Build Websites, Games and More

Bluesky is expanding Attie, its experimental platform for creating custom social feeds, with tools for making websites, quizzes, games, polls and other interactive experiences. The company announced the new capabilities at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 on Thursday.

Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider described the feature as “social vibe coding” for groups and communities. Attie connects creators to their AT Protocol (atproto) identities, and can suggest projects based on their public Bluesky profiles. Users can bring their own AI model or choose an open-weight option.

Experiences built with Attie run on the same protocol as Bluesky and other decentralized social apps in the Atmosphere. Bluesky COO Rose Wang said creators’ projects could reach the platform’s audience, addressing the challenge of finding users for new creations.

Bluesky has 47 million registered users, though the source reports that engagement has declined as some people who tried the service later returned to X. Schneider said private data support for the protocol is in alpha testing, with a rollout planned by the end of the year. He said developers have requested the feature more than any other.

Attie is part of Bluesky’s broader effort to focus on developers and communities in the coming months. Schneider said the goal is to enable small social experiences for groups of friends, rather than requiring people to communicate with everyone at once.
