Black Panther 3 set for December 15, 2028 in Marvel Phase 7

Black Panther 3 is scheduled to arrive in theaters worldwide on December 15, 2028, as one of three films announced for Marvel Phase 7. Marvel revealed the date in July 2026 during its Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026.

Ryan Coogler will return to direct. Filming has not begun, and Marvel has not released a trailer, footage, or story details. Production is also expected to wait until the relevant cast members are available after Avengers: Secret Wars.

David Jonsson has been confirmed as T'Challa II, also known as Toussaint, making him the next actor to play the grown-up character. The role was introduced in the final scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Denzel Washington has also confirmed that he will appear, although his character has not been revealed.

Letitia Wright has said she is happy for Jonsson to take ownership of the role. Marvel has not confirmed whether Shuri will appear or whether T'Challa II will already be the new Black Panther when the film begins.
