Baseus has announced the Security PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera, an outdoor security camera with a motorized spotlight that follows moving targets. The company says the light can make people aware they have been detected and improve nighttime video quality. It can also provide light for after-hours activities such as taking a dog outside.
The U2 Pro combines a fixed 3K camera for monitoring one area with a second 3K camera that can pan, tilt, and zoom 360 degrees. Full-color night vision is designed to help distinguish people, animals, and vehicle colors.
Baseus says AI-powered analysis can summarize detected motion and distinguish people, pets, vehicles, and delivered packages. It can ignore irrelevant movement, such as windblown branches, and routine activity. The camera records only when it detects motion, storing footage on an encrypted 512GB memory card. Users can access footage through Baseus’ mobile app, while live views are also available on Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices.
The camera is available in the US through Amazon for $269.99. European availability starts October 15 at €269.99. Baseus says installation takes about two minutes. The wireless camera has a rechargeable battery rated for up to 150 days, depending on activity. An included 3W solar panel can be mounted on or near the camera; 40 minutes of sunlight provides enough power for a day of use.
