Apple to open Apple Music Hall beneath UK headquarters

Apple is preparing to open Apple Music Hall, a 600-capacity live music venue beneath its European headquarters at London’s Battersea Power Station. The venue is scheduled to open on September 28, although Apple has not announced the opening show.

The space will host performances, recording sessions, and video broadcasts. Apple says its layout is intended to bring audiences close to performers while retaining production capabilities. The reconfigurable stage is 38 feet wide, and a 48-speaker spatial sound system surrounds the audience.

The venue is hardwired for 16 or more broadcast cameras and includes two recording and mixing studios behind the stage. Apple says those facilities allow Apple Music Hall to operate as a full production facility.

The performance space will open alongside new Apple Music radio studios in Battersea. Apple said all of its London-based hosts and shows will now broadcast from the facility.

Apple Music Hall represents the company’s return to London’s music scene after the iTunes Music Festival, which ran in the city for a decade before being canceled in 2017. Battersea Power Station, a decommissioned Art Deco facility that reopened in 2022, also appeared on the cover of Pink Floyd’s Animals album.
