Anthropic launches Claude Duet agent for professionals and small businesses

Anthropic has introduced Claude Duet, an AI agent aimed at professionals and small businesses. The company says it can help users automate and manage tasks.

Unlike personal agents such as Instinct, Duet is not designed to handle errands or book tickets, and it cannot show its browser activity in real time. Instead, it can prepare daily briefings, create dashboards and suggest actions based on a user’s data. It can also work in the background in its own virtual machine and return for approval when needed.

Anthropic says Duet is built on the Claude Opus 5.5 model and connects to more than 6,000 connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace. It can make online purchases for users through Stripe’s Link digital wallet or Shopify’s Shop Pay, but payments require user approval. Duet will not trade securities or transfer money between accounts.

The company also released a classifier intended to prevent sensitive information from leaking. Anthropic says Duet will decline requests for credit card numbers and government identification by default.

Claude Duet is available in research preview on iOS, Android and the web through Claude.ai for Pro and Max customers. Users must join a waitlist to try it.
