Amazon unveils Alexa tablets with Alexa+ and Google Play access

Amazon has unveiled three Android tablets with built-in access to its Alexa+ assistant and the Google Play Store: the Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Amazon Alexa Tablet 11 and Amazon Alexa Tablet 8. Amazon says the new product line has new hardware and a new operating system, rather than being a rebrand of its Fire Tablets.

The 12 Pro has a 12-inch, 280 PPI display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3:2 aspect ratio. It comes with a standard or anti-glare Nanomatte display. Amazon says it offers nearly three times the processing performance and nine times the graphics performance of any tablet it has shipped before. It includes Wi-Fi 6E, Dolby Atmos speakers and up to 16 hours of video playback. Prices start at $499.99, or $549.99 for Nanomatte. The optional Pro Pen and Pro Keyboard are designed to turn it into a workstation.

The 11 has an 11-inch 2.5K display, 276 pixels per inch, 90Hz scrolling and up to 15 hours of video playback. It starts at $329.99. The 8 has an 8.7-inch display and weighs 329 grams; it starts at $229.99. All three also include a Kindle reading experience that silences notifications, reduces blue light and can provide up to 20 hours of battery life.

Amazon says the tablets go on sale October 14, 2026, in the U.S., Mexico and Canada, and October 19 in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
