AI-related job postings in the UK are growing as organizations hire people to manage and govern AI systems, according to TechRadar, citing PwC’s AI Jobs Barometer and other research. The article says specialist AI job postings have risen 61% since last year, with 68,000 new roles bringing hiring volumes to around 2022 levels.
TechRadar also cites research indicating that 85% of organizations already use AI agents in workflows. Among UK IT leaders, 65% expect overall headcount to grow over the next three years, while 14% expect it to fall. Only 8% say AI agents are primarily eliminating jobs today. The article reports that 48% are hiring AI agent operators, 31% security, risk and compliance specialists, and 26% AI ethics and governance specialists.
Separately, Coursera research cited in the article found that 88% of leaders agree planned AI investments will not succeed without increased investment in skills development. TechRadar says nearly 94% of UK organizations believe stronger governance would help them move faster with AI, and 93% consider it essential to scaling AI responsibly.
The article describes roles such as LLM Engineer, Prompt Engineer, AI Governance & Compliance Manager and Chief AI Officer. It also points to a gap in company knowledge access: 96% of organizations say it is critical to AI success, but only 32% have connected AI agents to trusted internal content across multiple use cases.
