Apple will bring Apple Intelligence to China with iOS 27.3, according to an announcement on the company’s Chinese newsroom website, as reported by MacRumors. The features are set to arrive first in an iOS 27.3 beta scheduled for November 4, with the full release planned for December.
The launch will not include the new Siri AI. Instead, Apple plans to offer earlier Apple Intelligence features, including notification summaries, real-time translation, rewriting and proofreading tools, visual intelligence, and a tool for removing objects from photos.
Apple also says it worked with Alibaba to support its Qwen chatbot in some experiences. The arrangement appears similar to iOS integration with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which launched in 2024.
Apple Intelligence was approved in China in July, a sign that the launch was approaching. Reuters reported in August that Apple had trained its own large language model specifically for China.
