Audeze Brings Maxwell 2 ANC Head Tracking to Wwise

Audeze and Audiokinetic are partnering to add native head-tracking support for the Audeze Maxwell 2 ANC headset inside Wwise, Audiokinetic’s audio creation suite. The companies say the integration is intended to expand spatial audio tools for game developers.

The headset’s real-time, self-calibrating head tracking is designed to help sound designers place 3D audio and monitor it directly in Wwise. Users can connect the Maxwell 2 ANC by USB-C or its low-latency wireless USB-C dongle. The companies say the setup requires no external software.

Audeze says the integration can support workflows including VR emulation, Tempest 3D AudioTech binauralization and non-standard speaker layouts for Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) using the AK Custom Panner. The headset also features 90 mm planar magnetic drivers and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), alongside Uniforce, Fluxor, Fazor and SLAM acoustic technologies.

Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram said native integration of the headset’s head tracking into Wwise removes friction between creative plans and spatial execution. Audiokinetic CTO Martin Dufour said the partnership could make it easier for developers to implement spatial audio in games.
