AMD CEO Lisa Su wanted the Ryzen 7 5800X3D to serve as a “final gift” for owners of the company’s AM4 platform, according to AMD Senior Director of Client Product Management Travis Kirsch.
Wccftech reports that Kirsch discussed the chip in an interview with Japanese publication My Navi. The conversation covered the launch of AMD’s X3D processors and Kirsch’s views on the current DRAM market.
Kirsch’s remarks about older Ryzen X3D chips included Su’s intention for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D to give AM4 users seeking an upgrade a final option. The report does not provide further detail about Su’s comments or specify what Kirsch said about the DRAM market.
