Analogue updates its Super Nt and Mega Sg retro consoles

Analogue has announced updated versions of its Super Nt and Mega Sg retro consoles, with a redesigned exterior and wireless connectivity built in for controllers and accessories. The company describes the design as “reworked.”

The Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus play Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges using FPGA processors designed to recreate the original 16-bit consoles’ functionality without emulation. Both support output up to 1080p; unlike Analogue 3D, they do not play their games in 4K.

Each console adds a USB-C port for power and an extra USB-A port for peripherals. They also include Bluetooth or a low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connection for gamepads, so a controller-port dongle is not required.

Preorders open October 19 at 9AM PT / 11AM ET. The consoles cost $219.99, and Analogue expects shipping to begin sometime in December. These details were reported by The Verge.
