TFG London investigates cyber incident affecting three fashion brands

TFG London, the UK arm of retail group The Foschini Group, says it is investigating a cyber-security incident affecting some of its IT systems and three fashion brands: Phase Eight, Hobbs and Whistles.

The company said it identified the incident on Sunday and is working with external cyber-security specialists. Its stores are operating as normal, but some website features may be unavailable. TFG London apologised for the disruption and said it would update customers as appropriate.

The group reportedly told customers in an email, seen by PA, that it did not believe payment information had been affected. It said it was checking whether any sensitive customer information was impacted and would contact people directly if their personal information was affected. The email added that customers did not need to change their account login information at that time.

Separately, H&M said it was investigating online claims that it had been targeted by the hacking group ShinyHunters. The company said it had found no indications that its data environment was compromised.

The claims about H&M follow a recent cyber incident at online retailer Asos. The BBC reported that customers were later told hackers may have obtained more detailed personal information than the retailer had initially indicated. The incidents described by TFG London and H&M are separate investigations; neither company confirmed a data breach in the statements cited.
