TechRadar reviews the Qidi Q2 3D printer

TechRadar reviewer Alastair Jennings describes the Qidi Q2 as a reliable, straightforward 3D printer suited to business and education. He says it ran for 6 months without issues in his test, producing consistent prints with PLA, ASA, ABS and PETG-CF.

The fully enclosed CoreXY printer has a 270 x 270 x 256 mm build volume. Jennings says that is enough for most prototyping, while larger props and helmets may need to be printed in parts. At 18.1 kg, he found it easier to move than some larger machines.

The Q2 has automatic calibration and bed levelling, a dual-sided textured PEI build plate, and a 4.3-inch touchscreen. Jennings reports few misprints during testing and says finished prints were easy to remove after cooling. Its enclosed chamber also keeps users away from the hot end, a feature he highlights for education settings.

Toolhead speed reaches 600 mm/s, with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². Jennings characterizes its pace as steady rather than exceptional compared with machines reaching 1,000 mm/s. He says the Q2 lacks cutting-edge features but emphasizes its reliability and ease of use. The printer ships with QidiSlicer, whose default profiles he found well tested.
