Kodak PixPro AZ653 combines a 65x zoom with a compact bridge-camera design

TechRadar’s review describes the Kodak PixPro AZ653 as a capable bridge camera for beginners and photographers who want to travel without a bag full of lenses.

Its main feature is an integrated 65x power zoom covering the equivalent of 24-1560mm at f/2.9-6.7. That range can handle everyday street scenes, distant wildlife and safari photography without changing lenses. Autofocus is smooth, although the review says it is not fast enough for the quickest animal subjects.

Image quality is considered respectable for a bridge camera with a small sensor. In good light, images are sharp and detailed, though extreme color noise can appear. The DSLR-like body is comfortable to hold, and a manual control ring gives the camera a more premium feel.

The fixed 3.0-inch LCD has 460k dots. The camera accepts SD, SDHC and SDXC cards up to 1.5 TB, with Class 10 or faster recommended, and records Full HD 1080p video at up to 30 fps.

The Kodak PixPro AZ653 is available globally for $449, £349 or AU$ 750.99. TechRadar says it is not a replacement for a mirrorless camera, but it offers a versatile, lightweight option for entry-level users and photographers reducing their equipment.
