TechRadar reviewer Lewis Maddison describes the HP OmniBook X 14 as a well-built ultraportable that balances a slim, light design with strong performance. The review unit, equipped with a Snapdragon X Elite chip, handled everyday work, browsing, 4K streaming and light gaming while remaining quiet under load.
The laptop has a 2240 x 1400 touchscreen that the review calls sharp, vibrant and responsive, though it can be reflective. Maddison also praised the keyboard, while noting the absence of dedicated navigation keys and a number pad, and said the touchpad could be larger.
Port selection is a weakness: the laptop has two USB-C ports on the left and a USB-A port and headset jack on the right. The reviewer criticized the USB-A port’s flip-down flap and the headset jack’s rearward placement.
In TechRadar’s battery test, the OmniBook X lasted over 28 hours. The review says the base model starts at £764 and is available now, with processor options from AMD, Intel and Qualcomm. Memory configurations range from 16GB to 32GB, while storage ranges from 512GB to 1TB. Maddison considers the base model good value compared with rivals, while noting it is less powerful than the tested configuration.
